I've just had a few go-arounds trying to make gcc on our system. I don't have privileges, just adequate disk space (at the moment). I made a GCC-CC1.exe (26xx blocks) with make-cc1(-vaxc), then tried to re-compile with this using gcc :== $gnu_cc:[000000]gcc-cc1.exe then when I try the make-cc1 I get compiler "errors" reported begining on the first non-blank character. This also happens (?) for the pre-compiled gcc.exe of the vms distribution. I'm trying this on the latest 2.7.2 prep distribution. Any clues about the next step? I've got years of familiarity with VMS, as a user mostly. Using VMS 6.? on a 9000. Greg Jung
